Nicole Ari Parker is an American stage and television actress who is known for her role as the spirited attorney Teri Joseph on the Showtime series Soul Food. When she graduated from high school she accepted a full scholarship to Toronto's University of Toronto, where she completed a masters degree in theatre and a double major in sociology and psychology. Contractor was given the lead role in Pericles following her one year stay at the University. She was a part of the audition for the role in the Stratford Shakespeare Festival (Ontario Canada) and received. The year 2002 was a great one for her. Canadian theater critics were awed by her performance in 92 productions of Pericles. The conservatory in Stratford takes eight people, four women along with a couple of others for a weeks of crash courses. Contractor's spot was assured during the upcoming play as she was offered the character in A Midsummer Night's Dream.
